AEW Releases First Power Rankings Following Records Reset

AEW Releases First Power Rankings Following Records Reset

One of the main selling points of AEW is the fact that the new promotion is trying to make wins and losses matter, something WWE has been criticised for not doing in the past.

One of the ways that AEW decided to do this is by releasing the Power Rankings. The has given championship matches more of a reason to happen, and allows normal matches to have added stakes.

AEW announced in late 2019 that the win/loss records would reset in 2020, and last week’s New Year’s Day episode of Dynamite allowed wrestlers who had a poor year last year to have a clean slate in 2020.

Following on from the stats reset, AEW has revealed the first power rankings of the new decade.

For the men, it is no surprise that Jon Moxley is leading the charge. Mox is rumoured to be facing AEW World Champion Chris Jericho in a marquee match next month at Revolution.

For the women, it is Kris Statlander is in pole position. Tonight on Dynamite, Statlander is set to go one-on-one with Riho for the AEW World Women’s Championship.
