AEW Star Responds After Officially Joining Faction AEW

Weeks of attempting to get Christian Cage’s attention have paid off for Kip Sabian, as revealed on the October 6 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Cage officially welcome Sabian to The Patriarchy.

Describing Sabian as “much like a lot of you, he’s a fatherless loser just looking for some guidance”, Cage would reveal that moment that stood out to him of Sabian’s intentions.

Reflecting on the moment when Sabian grabbed the pen from Cage just before he signed his “Next AEW Champion” contract at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, The Patriarch noted:

“Now, you people in Manchester, might not be smart enough to figure it out, so I’m going to spell it out for you.

“Kip Sabian had the foresight to realise what was happening. He realised if I signed this contract, they were going to interfere and cost me the match and this contract would be gone forever.

“Because of Kip Sabian, I stand here and still the reigning, defending, undisputed next AEW World Champion.

Cage’s words seems to strike a cord with his other ‘son’, Nick Wayne, however, when he told Sabian:

“And, in that moment, Kip, you did more for me than any of my other sons have ever done.”

Sabian has now responded to his induction into The Patriarchy and his relationship with Cage in particular, tweeting:

“Christian Cage is my father.”

While Sabian may have joined The Patriarchy, HOOK chose to turn down Cage’s offer on last night’s Dynamite.

Cage wished HOOK’s father dead with Taz later confirming that he was very much not dead on Twitter.
