AEW President Tony Khan has addressed former Women’s World Champion Toni Storm’s comments about her retirement.
Storm hasn’t wrestled for AEW since dropping the Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at the August 25 All In London pay-per-view.
During her time away from AEW, Storm told SBNation that she’ll be leaving wrestling following her recent losses, noting:
“I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that.
“AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm. Chin down. Tits in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”
Tony Khan addressed these comments in the Full Gear media call. When asked about Storm’s ‘retirement’ Khan stated that reports of her demise have been ‘greatly exaggerated’, and that he hopes she’ll make her way back to AEW soon.
Khan said:
“I think that reports of her demise have been greatly exaggerated. I still expect Toni Storm will have a great wrestling career, but she’s really struggling, clearly, with what’s happened.
“She lost the world title, she lost her protege, and I think she feels like she’s lost everything, and now she’s lost. And I hope that Toni Storm can find herself and come back to us here in AEW, because Timeless Toni Storm’s a great part of AEW, definitely.”

Storm has wrestled several matches during her AEW absence, notably teaming with Mina Shirakawa at a couple of STARDOM shows ahead of unsuccessfully challenging for Mayu Iwatani’s IWGP Women’s Championship at STARDOM Nagoya Golden Fight 2024.
She was most recently in action at the October 18 CMLL Super Viernes show, losing to La Catalina in singles action.
