Top AEW Star To Return Soon

Top AEW Star To Return Soon AEW

Having last competed at AEW All Out in September of this year, details for the return of a top star have now emerged.

MJF lost to Mark Briscoe in a Table N Tacks match at AEW All Out Toronto on September 20 and has been absent from the ring since.

Fans of Friedman won’t have much longer to wait, according to Dave Meltzer, who revealed an imminent return for the AEW star.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer revealed that MJF had been gone due to acting commitments, with the star filming for Violent Night 2.

While not confirming his return date, Meltzer did speculate that MJF could return for the Diamond Ring Battle Royal, with MJF notably winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring every year since its inception in 2019.

Violent Night 2 is a Christmas action comedy movie that stars David Harbour, reprising his role as Santa Claus, and is scheduled for a December 2026 release.

MJF has had quite the run with Diamond Ring battle royals on AEW Dynamite, having won every one since 2019.

The Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale will take place at AEW Holiday Bash in Manchester, England, on December 17, with the two finalists facing off at Dynamite on 34th Street the following week.

The winner of that match will go on to face the AEW World Champion on January 14 of next year.

AEW owner Tony Khan has previously addressed MJF’s acting career, which also saw him star in Happy Gilmore 2 earlier this year.
