On next week’s Dynamite episode, an AEW star is set to wrestle his first match in a year, and his first singles match in two years.
During the August 6 Dynamite episode, “Cope” Adam Copeland announced a match with additional stipulations for the August 13 show.
Cope announced that his in-ring return match will be against Stokely. He added that if FTR get involved in the match, their restraining order against Cope will be null and void, meaning that the Rated-R Superstar would be able to attack Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.
This will be “Big Stoke” Stokely’s first match since the All In London 2024 pre-show last August, when he and Kris Statlander lost to Tomohiro Ishii and Willow Nightingale.
His last singles match took place two years ago, with Hook defeating Stokely in three minutes during a No Disqualification match on the March 22, 2023 Dynamite episode.
The August 13 match will be Cope’s first match in four months, with the Rated-R Superstar last wrestling at April’s Dynasty event.
During this show, Cope teamed with FTR to unsuccessfully challenge for the Death Riders’ AEW Trios Championship.
