Ricky Starks hasn’t been seen in an AEW ring since March 2024 and may be heading to WWE when his contract expires.
Starks was last seen on AEW Collision back in March 2024 teaming with Big Bill to face Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin).
Dave Meltzer has now revealed details about Starks’ future in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:
Ricky Starks who hasn’t been used, also fits into the category as he’s very much within wrestling expected to go to WWE when his deal is up.
He hasn’t signed a new deal and he turned down an angle for Big Bill to turn on him where he’d be a babyface and now be used anymore.
There was no update on when Starks’ AEW contract is actually due to expire.
He joins the Lucha Bros and Daniel Garcia as names WWE reportedly has interest in signing.
There are more and more signs pointing to the Lucha Bros being WWE-bound, whereas Garcia’s future is less certain as he could end up staying in AEW.
Earlier this year, Tony Khan reflected on the importance of Starks in the history of AEW and stated that he likes Starks ‘a lot’.
MJF has recently praised Starks, calling him a ‘phenom’ and ‘one of the most underrated talents probably ever’.
Starks debuted in AEW on the June 17, 2020 episode of Dynamite and has since held the AEW World Tag Team Championship (with Big Bill) and the FTW Championship.
