Chris Jericho Reveals Former ROH Names That He Couldn’t Bring to AEW AEW

Since becoming the ROH World Champion in September 2022, Chris Jericho has made it his mission to destroy ROH’s history.

On the November 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho faced former ROH champion Tomohiro Ishii, retaining the championship.

On the Talk is Jericho podcast, Jericho discussed other names that he could have faced on the Thanksgiving Eve episode, saying:

“I wanted to do another match with an outside guy.

“We had a couple of ideas, one was PCO, once again, but he wasn’t available.

“The other idea we had was Chris Hero, but he wasn’t available either, couldn’t do the gig.

“Same thing with Dragon Lee, another idea that Tony had, but he couldn’t make it.

“I was like, ‘Does anybody want to wrestle me?’

“We were thinking that maybe we could use Chris Daniels, I suggested Samoa Joe or Jay Lethal, but they’re in different programs.

“Finally, Tony says, “What about Ishii?’ ‘That is great.”

With the ROH World Championship still firmly in the grasp of Chris Jericho, he will go on to face Claudio Castagnoli at ROH Final Battle on December 10 2022.

ROH Final Battle is the second Tony Khan-led Ring of Honor live event.
