Saraya Slams Body Shaming Critics Over ‘Frustrating’ Medical Condition AEW

AEW’s Saraya has slapped back at body shaming critics while talking about a “frustrating” and recurring medical condition.

The Outcasts member was a recent guest on Taylor Wilde’s Wilde On podcast and spoke about the criticism she has faced over her endo belly.

Endo belly is described by Medical News Today as:

“The painful and often severe abdominal bloating associated with endometriosis. This severe bloating is likely due to inflammation, growths, or other digestive issues resulting from endometriosis.”

According to the site, it affects 11% of women of reproductive age in the United States alone.

Speaking on the subject, Saraya revealed:

“Everybody has an opinion on you. It’s so frustrating. Growing up so young, the thing that used to bother me the most out of everything is the way they would look at my weight, because everyone has an opinion about you — lately as well, they’ll turn it back around.

“They tell me that I’m looking a little bigger than usual and I wanna tell them, listen, I’m getting older. I have really bad endometriosis.”

Saraya would go on to explain the impact endo belly has on her, saying:

“My belly swells up, I get endo belly and so it swells up for a couple of weeks and it’s really, really painful and I try to hide it.

“That’s why I can’t wrestle when my belly is like that. I can’t wear wrestling gear, I’m too swollen.

“It’s a really painful experience for me and then people will just think I’m fat and I’m just like, ‘You have no idea’ but everyone has an opinion.”

She would go on to note, through Twitter, that the condition doesn’t hinder her ability to wrestle.

Saraya made her AEW debut in September 2022 and had her first match since her December 2017 neck injury at AEW Full Gear on November 19 2022.

In March, she formed The Outcasts with Ruby Soho and Toni Storm.
