Top AEW Women’s Star Would ‘Love’ To Wrestle The Guys

Since returning to the ring in 2022, a top AEW women’s wrestler has made it clear that gender isn’t a divide when it comes to competition.

Having grown up on the independent scene before her move to WWE as Paige, Saraya has faced male wrestlers before and has proved to be just as impactful with men as she is with women.

She recently appeared on the DJ Whoo Kid show and discussed the equal opportunity business of wrestling with the host, saying:

“It is, but you know, I feel people are really sensitive in this world, currently.

“It’s really hard to do matches like that without someone being offended by it. I would love to do matches like that.”

Looking specifically at AEW, it turns out that Saraya already has a name in mind, and her boyfriend is encouraging it, saying:

“It writes itself. Ronnie even wanted to become part of it. A storyline, do something against Chris Jericho.

“He’s such a good bad guy. He plays a very good bad guy, and people love to hate him. I feel they [Ronnie and Jericho] would have a good storyline.”

Saraya continued to praise Jericho and his mindset for doing business in the ring, concluding:

“I would love to wrestle one of the guys. If I have to beat up Chris Jericho, Jericho would be up for it.

“He doesn’t care, he’s a very selfless worker. He’s a good guy. He’ll wrestle anybody and if he has to let somebody win, he’ll be like, ‘Absolutely.’

“There is never an ego there. He just wants to help people.

“I’m like, ‘Let me beat you. Let me beat you up.’ I’m gonna beat the sh*t out him, he’ll be fine.”

Since her return, Saraya has been a prominent player in the AEW women’s division.

She would be victorious in her return match against Britt Baker at AEW Full Gear in 2022.

On the January 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, she would team with Toni Storm though be unsuccessful against Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter.
