Known to WWE fans as Paige, AEW’s Saraya has slammed her former home for what she says was a “big time” missed opportunity.
Saraya’s journey to the WWE was captured in the well-received and successful movie Fighting With My Family, but the story wasn’t just about the former Paige.
Also heavily featured in the movie was the journey of her brother, Zak Knight, who wasn’t able to enjoy the same level of success as his sister.
During a recent appearance on the Mark Hoke show, Saraya addressed how WWE dropped the ball on her brother, saying:
“He never got the opportunity in WWE. They never gave him the time of day. He did all these tryouts and they never (gave him a shot).
“After the movie, I feel like they dropped the ball big time with him. That could have been the ultimate underdog story right there. Years and years spent trying to make it.”
While Zak Knight may not have received his WWE opportunity, Saraya would reveal that Tony Khan had offered Zak a dark match if he had a visa.
Saraya revealed that she had got her brother a visa and that it should be in Zak’s hand by August 2023.
August of this year, of course, sees AEW bring All In to Wembley Stadium with the show taking place on August 27.
AEW Double or Nothing is the next major stop on the pay-per-view calendar, taking place over Memorial Day weekend.
