On a recent episode of AEW, two rather entertaining skits were shown, with new Inner Circle members MJF and Wardlow taking the rest of the faction on a trip to Las Vegas. The skits featured cameos from former WWE star Hornswoggle and Konnan.
On his podcast, the aforementioned Konnan revealed that Chris Jericho wanted to include some Marijuana-related jokes in the skit, but the group were ultimately told that the jokes couldn’t make it into the final cut:
“If we are opening up a limo and smoke is coming out, what do you think we are doing in there, roasting marshmallows? … I will give Chris credit. He tried. We tried to do the roll up sign. We tried to have a blunt. We tried to say ‘blaze one.’ Bro, they had a legal girl there from the Jacksonville Jaguars and they’re like ‘no, no, no, no.’ So finally I just said, ‘why don’t I just say I always have the best stuff.’ … We couldn’t do none of that but Chris did try. He did try to push the envelope because he even goes, ‘what is that you do, Iranian tobacco? Say that, your fans will know.’”
Despite potentially not going as far as Jericho and Konnan would have liked, the Las Vegas segments with The Inner Circle were still incredibly entertaining, as has come to be expected with segments featuring the faction in AEW.
Speaking of Chris Jericho, the former AEW World Champion is going to go one-on-one with Frankie Kazarian for the very first time on this week’s special ‘Winter is Coming’ episode of Dynamite.
