AEW Secures Canadian TV Deal

AEW Secures Canadian TV Deal

According to Dave Meltzer.  AEW has landed a deal with The Sports Network to air AEW: Dynamite every week on television in Canada.  This comes just a couple days prior to the debut on TNT on October 2, 2019.

It also comes after a rough week for AEW and television deals.  Many UK fans were not happy with AEW not being available live.

It was announced AEW would be available for purchase through Fite TV for a 4.99 price.  While that doesn’t sound incredibly steep, it’s a hard pill to swallow when everyone else appears to be getting it for free.

Canadian fans won’t have to worry about that though.  TSN will be broadcast live each and every Wednesday.

The Sports Network is a similar style station to ESPN in the US.  TSN broadcasts such events as UFC bouts and hockey.

AEW Debuts this Wednesday at 8pm EST on TNT in the US.  They are airing a Countdown to Dynamite special on TNT tomorrow night.

The debut show features:

  • Cody vs. Sammy Guevara
  • Adam Page vs. PAC
  • MJF vs. Brandon Cutler
  • Nyla Rose vs. Riho
  • The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho and two mystery partners.

AEW will be going head to head with NXT.  A lot will be made of the US ratings, but deals like this Canadian deal can only help AEW grow and be successful.
