A big update has emerged on AEW’s plans for a new official signing, who’s set to return to programming imminently.
Mina Shirakawa confirmed an official AEW move at the end of March, confirming her departure from STARDOM during a press conference.
More details have emerged on this move, with Fightful Select now reporting that Shirakawa is set to appear on AEW TV “imminently.”
The report noted that there have been discussions for Shirakawa to appear for AEW within the next couple of weeks.
Per Fightful, it’s believed that Shirakawa will get an “immediate push” upon her arrival, with it noted that she impressed many with her previous stints with the company.
Shirakawa appeared on AEW TV numerous times while contracted to STARDOM, debuting in April 2024 and playing a part in the rivalry between Mariah May and Toni Storm.
She has a 9-1 record in AEW, her only loss being against Mariah May in an AEW Women’s Championship match on the December 11, 2024 Dynamite: Winter is Coming show.
Shirakawa most recently wrestled at the May 9 NJPW Resurgence event, competing in a three-way match for Mercedes Mone’s NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.
This match featured a title change, with AZM pinning Shirakawa to become the new champion.
