Despite playing the side-kick to Britt Baker for much of her AEW career, the current AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter now has the leading role.
While wrestling history has told us to expect a jealous Baker to some-day turn on Hayter and challenge her former protege for her championship, this has not yet taken place.
According to Baker herself that’s not something we should expect to happen to happen anytime soon.
Speaking to Comicbook.com Baker would distance herself from the speculation and state how happy she is for her girl Hayter.
Baker said:
“Jamie Hayter is my girl. She has the championship title. I am not interested in stripping that off her because this is her time.
“I want to face everybody because I think our women’s division is on the way to being one of the best in the world. Bring them on. Bring them all on.”
Hayter is set to make her AEW in-ring return following a visa-related absence, to defend her Women’s Championship on next week’s April 5 AEW Dynamite against Riho.
