An AEW star has commented on the recent backstage incident that took place involving Britt Baker and American Champion MJF.
The incident led to Baker legitimately being suspended after an investigation into what took place.
As far as reports indicate, the shorthand version of the story is that Baker said something in the women’s locker room about MJF during his one-hour match against Will Ospreay.
Alicia Atout, MJF’s girlfriend, was in the locker room at the time and allegedly told MJF what Baker had said, which resulted in words being exchanged between MJF and Baker.
In an interview with Stephanie Chase, AEW star Deonna Purrazzo was asked about the situation, and said it was an isolated incident and her experiences in the AEW locker room have been positive.
She said:
“I think this was just kind of like one instance that sparked a lot of other drama, and also kind of took on a life of its own. The rumor mill starts going and things aren’t as they were and people add their two cents, and it makes it way bigger than it was.
“I think this was an isolated incident because everything else that I’ve experienced in this locker room is supportive, is encouraging, is a lot of camaraderie. We just recently celebrated people’s birthdays and had birthday cakes and sang.
“I feel like this locker room doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves for that type of camaraderie.
“I don’t know what it was like before, I can only speak to my experiences, but I feel like it doesn’t get enough credit that it deserves.”

MJF wasn’t suspended by AEW as a result of the incident, while Britt Baker was absent from last week’s show but appeared last night via satellite.
Baker’s match against Mercedes Mone at AEW All In London has always been planned to still go ahead.
MJF will defend the American Championship against Will Ospreay at the pay-per-view on August 25.
