AEW Star Also Featured On NXT Last Night

It is not often that a wrestler appears for the two top promotions in the world on the same night. In a weird turn of events, AEW star Chuck Taylor did just that last night.

Taylor appeared on Dynamite in a tag team match against the Lucha Bros. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Where things get weird is when Taylor also appeared in a video package on NXT.

Taylor participated in the same WWE tryout as Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa in 2015. Footage of the tryout was shown during last night’s broadcast of NXT as a way to hype up the upcoming match between Gargano and Ciampa.

Taylor and Gargano have a history together on the independent scene, as both were members of the FIST stable in CHIKARA. While Taylor was not signed by WWE following the tryout in 2015, Gargano and Ciampa eventually made it to NXT where they are now stars.

Meanwhile, Taylor and Trent lost their match with the Lucha Bros. on AEW Dynamite. Pentagon Jr. and Fenix got the win after Trent was low-blowed and hit with the Package Piledriver. After the match, Best Friends challenged the Lucha Bros. to a Parking Lot Fight on the next episode of Dynamite.
