AEW star Ricochet launched a surprise attack on current AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita at an independent event.
At Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Forged In Excellence Night Two, Konosuke Takeshita defeated TNA Wrestling star Josh Alexander to retain the AEW International Championship.
Post-match, Takeshita and Don Callis attacked Alexander until AEW star Ricochet came down to make a surprise appearance and make the save.
Callis retreated, while Takeshita got hit with a handspring back elbow and a Fosbury Flop dive to take him out.
After Takeshita bailed, Ricochet held up the AEW International Championship to let the champion know he’s coming for the gold.
This followed the October 19 edition of Collision where Ricochet defeated AR Fox and cut a promo saying he’s never been pinned or submitted in the company. He also noted that he would be waiting for Takeshita no matter where he went.
Following MLP’s Forged In Excellence, Ricochet took to Twitter to comment on his surprise appearance and the call by Mauro Ranallo. He wrote:
Cirque du Ricochet…
It remains to be seen when fans will see Konosuke Takeshita vs. Ricochet for the AEW International Championship at the time of this writing.
