Toni Storm’s ‘New’ Character Blasted By AEW Star

Toni Storm’s ‘New’ Character Blasted By AEW Star AEW

Toni Storm made her return to AEW on December 11 2024, appearing for the first time since All In at Wembley Stadium.

In that time, Toni Storm ‘retired‘ following her loss to Mariah May in a match that also saw her lose the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Storm’s return would see her abandon the Timeless character in favor of the one she sported in her early days in AEW.

Only now Storm is playing a new version of the character that has no recollection of anything that’s happened in her wrestling career thus far.

Her first match back saw her face Harley Cameron on the December 13 episode of AEW Rampage, a pre-taped show, with that decision not going down particularly well backstage.

She would also feature on the December 14 AEW Collision, beating Shazza McKenzie in a match taped two days earlier.

This week, on the pre-taped AEW Dynamite, Storm faces Taya Valkyrie on the Dynamite On 34th Street episode airing on Christmas Day.

Ahead of her Hammerstein Ballroom debut, AEW posted a video catching up with Storm as she steps foot in the iconic venue, which can be seen below this news story.

As can be seen below this news story, Storm is impressed by the history of the venue and also demonstrates her respect of the wrestling business.

Shaking hands with many that she encounters inside the venue, Storm notes that:

“I never thought I’d come to New York, let alone wrestle in New York.”

Christening the venue as ‘The Stein’ she reveals her mindset for the upcoming match, saying:

“If I learnt anything from the indies, shaking everyone’s hand is number one.

“You only get one first impression, I just don’t want to stuff it up.”

Her quest to make a good first impression sees her changing a hallway near a fire door.

Seeking privacy, Storm notes she wants to change before people arrive as she:

“… doesn’t want to scare anyone. I don’t want to flash anyone. Like, hello.”

The video ends with Storm saying she wants to “start at the bottom and work her way up.”

Someone who is less than impressed with Storm’s attempts to impress is her opponent for tomorrow night’s show, Taya Valkyrie.

Taking to Twitter, Valkyrie reposted the video with a message that read:

“This is just embarrassing. 🤦🏼‍♀️”

Storm has, of course, previously been to New York City having faced Saraya for the AEW Women’s World Championship in September 2023.

Before that, she was on AEW Dynamite defending her Women’s World Championship against Athena, Britt Baker and Serena Deeb on the Grand Slam episode in September 2022.

Her WWE days also took her to New York for Survivor Series in 2021 as part of Team SmackDown and in 2019 for the WWE Worlds Collide event defending the NXT UK Women’s Championship.
