An AEW star reportedly suffered a broken fibula during a recent match at last week’s AEW Collision taping.
As was announced by AEW President Tony Khan on December 3, Juice Robinson was pulled from the AEW Continental Classic tournament after suffering an injury during his match with Will Ospreay on the November 30 episode of Collision (taped on November 27).
Khan confirmed that it was Komander who would be replacing Robinson in the tournament, however specifics regarding the Bang Bang Gang member’s injury were not disclosed at the time.
Now we have an update on Robinson’s status courtesy of the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, who has reported that Robinson suffered a broken fibula in his left leg early on in the match with Ospreay.
According to Meltzer, the spot which caused the injury came at the 2:56 mark in the bout, where Robinson blocked a sunset flip.
While cameras didn’t let on anything went wrong with the spot, Meltzer notes how a still image from a different angle shows the “terrible” nature of the way Robinson’s leg bent.
X-rays afterwards showed Robinson suffered the break just above his left foot, with no timeline known for his recovery at this time.
We will provide further updates on Robinson’s status as/when more information is reported.
We would like to wish Robinson the best in his recovery from injury.
