AEW Star Believes His Cinematic Match Was The Best In History AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Sting been given a second chance to end his career on his terms since he arrived in AEW at the Winter Is Coming episode of Dynamite in 2020.

Sting made his return to the ring at Revolution in 2021, when he teamed with Darby Allin to defeat Ricky Starks and Brian Cage in a cinematic Street Fight.

Speaking about the match in an interview with Stephanie Chase, Starks said that working with Sting was ‘mindblowing’, and that he believes the match is the best cinematic match in wrestling.

He said:

“That was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Working with Sting was just mindblowing.

“I still believe it is the best cinematic match in wrestling, I don’t care what anyone says.

“Getting to work side-by-side with Darby … It was good to have the collaboration. [We made] sure that it was the best thing that all of us collective could put out there.

“My only criticism of that entire match is I just wish there was no commentary over it

Starks has since become one of the most popular stars in AEW, defeating Chris Jericho at last weekend’s AEW Revolution.

Sting has previously said that 2023 will be his final year as an in-ring performer, and he has ideas for potential retirement matches.
