An AEW star has been cleared to return to in-ring action after over a year following their surprise appearance on Dynamite.
On last week’s AEW Dynamite show, Mark Davis of Aussie Open made his first appearance since the 2023 WrestleDream pay-per-view, where he and Kyle Fletcher were defeated by FTR.
Davis confronted his partner Kyle Fletcher on the show following Fletcher’s betrayal of Will Ospreay at this year’s WrestleDream event.
Davis did not get physical on the show, which still led to some questions about whether or not he had yet been cleared for a return to in-ring competition.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), sources close to Davis noted that he has been cleared for a return to the ring after missing over a year of action.
During Davis’ time away, Fletcher has been spotlighted as a singles star on AEW television, capturing the ROH Television Championship and joining the Don Callis Family, betraying United Empire stablemate Will Ospreay.
Davis also underwent knee surgery back in May 2023, which led to him missing a number of months too.
Fletcher is set to team with AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita against Ricochet and a tag team partner of his choosing on tonight’s Dynamite show.
