Top AEW Star Confirmed For Title Vs. Mask Match AEW

A top AEW star has been confirmed to be competing in a ‘Title vs. Mask’ match at CMLL 92 Anniversario on September 19.

Last night saw CMLL stage their latest Viernes Espactacular event in Mexico City, with the main event pitting former AEW World Champion MJF against Zandokan Jr, two weeks following the pair’s confrontation on CMLL’s August 1 show.

In his first defense of the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship, MJF forced Zandokan Jr. to submit with his Salt of the Earth arm bar following a well-timed low blow whilst the referee was down.

Post match MJF unmasked Zandokan, leading to a confrontation between the champion and Mistico – continuing their recent rivalry that has spanned several months and carried over into many different promotions.

Following their face-to-face Mistico agreed to a ‘Mask vs. Title’ match against MJF for the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship at CMLL 92 Anniversario on September 19.
