An AEW star has confirmed that they are currently sidelined with a concussion after recently making a cameo on the show.
AEW’s HOOK last competed on the April 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, when he and Samoa Joe of the Opps defeated the Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
Fans were concerned for HOOK after the match when he seemingly vomited on himself, leading to many believing he had suffered a concussion.
HOOK was scheduled for an AEW Trios Championship match the following week, but he was not cleared for the match, with Powerhouse Hobbs replacing him, and Hobbs, Joe and Katsuyori Shibata ultimately capturing the AEW Trios Championship.
Despite not being cleared, HOOK made an appearance at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, where he came to the aid of the Opps during the Anarchy in the Arena match.
Providing an update on his status, HOOK spoke on Wrestling Observer Live, where he confirmed that he is currently recovering from a concussion.
He said:
“I’m recovering from a concussion, for those who don’t know. But yeah, I’ve been out for a while. I should be back soon, for sure.”
We wish HOOK all the best amid his recovery from his concussion.
