AEW Star Addresses Criticism Of Recent Major Match AEW

A current AEW star has addressed fan criticisms of a recent major match they were a part of in the company.

Back in November, AEW held it’s first-ever Women’s Blood & Guts match on Dynamite, where Mercedes Mone, Megan Bayne, Marina Shafir and the Triangle of Madness defeated Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Toni Storm, Harley Cameron, Jamie Hayter and Mina Shirakawa.

The match saw it’s fair share of criticism, with some fans unhappy the women’s stars partook in the bloody match.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo, AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander was asked about the criticism of the Women’s Blood & Guts match, and the women taking part in a bloody affair.

She said:

“Well first of all women bleed once a month anyway, so it’s kind of an unfair criticism, we don’t have a choice really. So to choose where we get to bleed from for once, I think that’s more power to the girlies.

“Also, you don’t have to watch it if you don’t like it, it’s quite literally advertised in the name Blood & Guts, you should expect some tomfoolery to say the least.

“As much as people like seeing the guys do it, we are wrestlers too, we have this sick desire to be disgusting and dangerous as well, and this was the first one ever, we haven’t had the chance to let that out, so obviously we’re going to go overboard and mutilate ourselves, because we’re psychos, and we all love to be that, and that is why we are where we are.”
