An AEW star has confirmed their departure from the company, announcing the news via a statement on social media.
On March 10 it was reported that Abadon was set to depart AEW, with the company opting not to renew their contract.
While Abadon would address the reports, saying they “couldn’t wait to make their own announcement”, they have remained listed as an active member of the AEW roster ever since then, with little update on their contract status and future.
That is until today however, as Abadon has taken to Twitter to officially announce that they will be exiting AEW in June when their contract expires, with the company not offering them a new deal.
In a heartfelt statement, Abadon wrote:
My time with AEW is coming to an end. My contract expires in June and I will not be renewed. The emotions I’m currently trying to manage are incredibly difficult and full of conflict as I reflect on my time there.
My goal is to not let this be it for me, because I love wrestling too much to just stop. I’ve put in a lot of hard work that I will now be able to show case more often.
While my heart is currently broken you can bet that I’m still going to show up for training next week. If you are looking to book me please send an email to bookabadonhere@gmail.com
Thank you.
Abadon made their AEW debut in March 2020 and was signed to a contract later that year – standing out among the women’s division with their horror themed look.
Abadon’s last match in the company came in February, defeating Racheal Ellering on the Ring Of Honor brand.
