AEW Star Discusses His Father Encouraging Him To Wrestle

Most of the time when you tell your parents that you want to be a wrestler you are met with groans. It is not the easiest profession on your mind or body. However, one AEW star who did not get that reaction was Jungle Boy.

As the son of beloved actor and long-time wrestling fan Luke Perry, ‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry was always encouraged by his father. In a recent interview with Fox News, he discussed having his father there to bounce ideas off of. Here is the quote:

“For me, that was cool to have someone to talk about it. In a lot of ways, I think acting and wrestling are different, but they’re similar at the same time. But I think they’re things that a lot of people theoretically want to do when they’re younger and then give up on it along the way.”

“So it was cool to have someone to talk to who had followed through with their childhood dream [of being an actor] and made it happen. There were so many things [we shared] along the way, but it was cool to be able to talk to someone and bounce ideas off of someone who had taken their dream all the way and fulfilled it.”

Jungle Boy was one of the first signings made by AEW back in 2019. Although he was inexperienced, he showed talent beyond his years and has since transitioned into a featured role in Jurassic Express.

Tragically, Luke Perry passed away last year as a result of a massive stroke. He was only 52 years old.
