An AEW star has fired back at reports that extras close to Thunder Rosa had not been booked recently calling it “careless reporting.”
In the October 24, 2022 issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer claimed:
“I’m not sure what the story is but it was noted to me that a lot of the extras who were close to Thunder Rosa, like KiLynn King (who seemed she was about to be elevated), Madi Wrenkowski and Jazmin Allure haven’t been booked of late.”
Thunder Rosa’s backstage reputation has been reported recently and Meltzer’s report would certainly play into that narrative, but Shawn Dean has provided his perspective on the report, tweeting:
“It’s the kind of careless reporting like this causing unnecessary issues and problems for no reason! U have no info, yet still report this dumb bs! All those talented women are in good standing. So whoever brought that to your attention is a liar and a fraud.”
Shawn Dean functions as “extras coordinator” in AEW, so he is in a position to talk about this particular situation.
Dean responded to further probing from fans by stating that the three names mentioned by Meltzer all live in Texas, so it wouldn’t have made sense to bring them in for AEW’s recent east coast shows.
