AEW Star ‘Fully Expects’ To Fight In MMA Soon

Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, former NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa has revealed that she “fully expects” to have another MMA fight in the future.

During the interview, Thunder Rosa said she is under contract with Combate Americas until September 2021, but it’s unclear how many fights she has left on that deal.

Thunder Rosa pointed out that higher-ups within NWA are supportive of her MMA career, but said that she isn’t sure how AEW will feel about her doing MMA as they haven’t brought up the topic to her.

However, it’s unlikely that AEW would have any real issues with Thunder Rosa doing some more work with Combate Americas, as Inner Circle member Jake Hager has had Bellator fights while under AEW contract.

Thunder Rosa is set to main event the special St Patricks Day episode of AEW Dynamite tomorrow alongside Britt Baker in an Unsanctioned match. This will be the first time a women’s match has main evented Dynamite.
