AEW Star Added To Great Muta’s Last Match

AEW Star Added To Great Muta’s Last Match AEW

When The Great Muta made his surprise AEW debut on the AEW Rampage Grand Slam show last year, fans were excited to see him and Sting together in an AEW ring.

It was announced shortly after that Sting would be heading to Pro Wrestling NOAH to team with the Great Muta in his final match as the gimmick on January 22.

Sting has since spoken about the match, and how he was hoping to get his AEW partner, Darby Allin, involved in the match in some way.

The match has now been officially announced, and Sting appears to have got his wish.

NOAH has announced that the match at ‘Great Muta Final Bye Bye’ will be a six-man tag team match, with Darby Allin teaming with Sting and the Great Muta to take on the team of AKIRA, Hakushi and Naomichi Marufuji.

Darby Allin reigns as the TNT Champion for the second time, capturing the title from Samoa Joe in the main event of the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Sting himself also recently discussed the end of his career, and how he plans to have Darby involved.

January 22 will mark the last match for the ‘Great Muta’ character, with Keiji Muto set for his final match on February 23.

Muto wrestled his final match for New Japan Pro Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4, where he teamed with Shota Umino and Hiroshi Tanahashi to defeat Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI and SANADA.

Great Muta was also a part of a Forbidden Door dream rematch with WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura at the NOAH New Year’s Day show last week.
