An AEW star has provided an update on their in-ring future, admitting that they haven’t yet retired from the ring.
Former WWE star MVP made the move over to AEW last September, with him debuting for the company at the AEW Grand Slam special episode of Dynamite, begin the relaunch of the Hurt Syndicate.
Since the arrival of Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley in the company, MVP has primarily taken up a manager role for the group, though he did recently make his first in-ring appearance for AEW, teaming with Lashley and Benjamin against Private Party and Mark Briscoe on the January 15 episode of Dynamite.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, MVP was asked about his in-ring future, and whether he was retired from the ring.
He said:
“No, not yet. I got a little bit left in me. It’s funny. We did a six-man about a month ago now, give or take, and they were teasing me because I was actually in there for a little while, and it felt good. It was coming back to me, and Shelton said, ‘Are you ever gonna tag out?’ I’m like oh yeah, maybe I should.”
The Hurt Syndicate are currently in the midst of a storyline with MJF, with MJF looking to join the group. You can see the latest development in the storyline from last night’s Dynamite show here.
