An update on an AEW star’s legitimate injury after they were removed from the upcoming Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
To kick off tonight’s AEW Dynamite show, Excalibur noted that the Death Riders attacked Switchblade Jay White backstage prior to the show, injuring him.
White had previously been announced for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, though it was announced that the Death Riders’ attack would take him out of the tournament.
In an update on Jay White from Fightful Select (subscription required), Jay White had suffered a legitimate injury ahead of tonight’s Dynamite show, with a storyline reason being created to explain it on air.
Fightful has confirmed Jay White’s injury, noting that he is expected to undergo surgery, though it has not yet been confirmed what the injury specifically is, but it has caused some significant creative changes due to his removal from the Tournament.
We wish Jay White a full and complete recovery from his injury.
