AEW Star Loses Championship

A current AEW star lost their championship competing in a match for another promotion last night.

AEW has formed alliances with a number of promotions around the world in recent years, most notably New Japan Pro Wrestling and CMLL.

Willow Nightingale became the CMLL Women’s Champion back in July, capturing the vacant championship after previous champion Stephanie Vaquer vacated the championship ahead of signing with WWE.

Willow defended the title at last night’s CMLL event in Arena Mexico, taking on Zeuxis, who would defeat Willow to capture the CMLL Women’s Championship.

Taking to Twitter after the show, Willow commented on competing in Arena Mexico, and dropping her championship.

She said:

Willow was also in action back at AEW All Out, where she was defeated by Kris Statlander in a Chicago Street Fight.
