Report: Contracted AEW Star Tells Management WWE Reached Out About Signing Them WWE/AEW

It has reportedly been claimed that WWE recently reached out to a contracted AEW star.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), a ‘notable AEW talent’ known to be under contract has reported to AEW management that WWE reached out to them about joining the company.

The talent reportedly made it clear that they’re happy with AEW, and told AEW higher-ups that they had no desire to leave the promotion.

The report noted that the claim was that a member of WWE’s talent relations team contacted the AEW name in question, with a source indicating that the talent had referred the call to their representation rather than taking it directly.

Fightful confirmed with the talent that the claim was made, with the report noting that the talent chose to remain anonymous.

Sources familiar with the situation reportedly told Fightful there was no mistake this performer was already under a full-time contract.

Triple H is currently in charge of WWE creative, in addition to his role as the EVP of Talent Relations. Since Triple H took over creative, a number of former WWE stars have returned to the company, including Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Dexter Lumis, and Top Dolla, Ashante Adonis & B-Fab of Hit Row.

Triple H recently discussed his goals as head of creative, which you can read about right here.
