Current AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May believes she is more entertaining than half of the men on the roster.
Mariah May has become one of AEW’s fastest rising stars since arriving in the company back in November 2023.
Since then, May has risen the ranks, won the 2024 Owen Hart Cup and is the current AEW Women’s World Champion at the time of this writing.
Speaking on Close-Up with Renee Paquette, Mariah May was asked how she would help the women’s division get more opportunities. She answered:
“I help because I say it how it is. Any minute of TV time I’m graced with, I say it how it is.”
“I don’t dance around it and talk about ‘girl power’ and this and that. I don’t care. I’m the best. I’m more entertaining than half of the men in that locker room.”
“I deserve the TV time, and what I’m doing to do is what I’ve always done and keep showing up every single week as the Women’s World Champion, in my rookie year, by the way, and keep being the biggest star in this company.”
“I don’t have to be paid the most, I don’t have to be given the most. I am the best, and I prove it, week in, week out,”
Mariah May will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Mina Shirakawa on this Wednesday’s December 11 Winter Is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite.
Also, Will Ospreay will face Claudio Castagnoli, while Ricochet goes one-on-one with Brody King in two Gold League matches in the AEW Continental Classic on the show.
