AEW Star Never Wants To Relive ‘Scariest Moment’ Of His Career AEW

Since joining AEW in March 2021 and finding himself in a high-profile feud with two of the company’s biggest names, there’s been only one moment that one AEW star never wants to revisit.

Ethan Page teamed with Scorpio Sky as Men of the Year, facing Sting and Darby Allin at Double of Nothing 2021, but that wasn’t the match that set Page on edge.

Later in the feud, Page would cross paths with Allin in a coffin match at AEW Fyter Fest Night 1 on July 14 2021.

It would be AEW’s first coffin match and a lasting experience for Page himself who said, in an interview with Daily Hive:

“I will say this. I earned my yearly salary in those 15 seconds.”

He may have been wryly joking about that, but reflecting on the experience, he was much more serious:

“That was one of the scariest, craziest, and most I-hope-I-never-have-to-relive-it-again moments in my life.”

As he found himself inside the coffin, Page would find himself alone in the dark, claustrophobic confines of the coffin, unable to do anything but wait for Darby Allin to deliver the Coffin Drop that would see his opponent win the match.

Page may have a negative memory of that moment, but his appreciation of AEW is much, much brighter, with Page saying:

“AEW’s opened so many doors and given people so many opportunities and allowed us the freedom to kind of create the best version of ourselves. As a professional wrestler that’s all you want when you were growing up, was to kind of have the creative freedom to show your best self.”

Page is currently a member of The Firm, MJF and Stokely Hathaway’s stable on retainer. He recently defeated Isiah Kassidy in Toronto, Canada to earn the contracts of Private Party and Matt Hardy for the Firm.
