AEW Star Announced For NJPW Resurgence

It has been confirmed that AEW star Lance Archer will be in action at the August 14 NJPW Resurgence event.

Archer will be defending the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi at the LA Coliseum.

Tanahashi appeared via a taped promo on AEW Dynamite last night to announce he’d be challenging the winner of Archer vs Hikuleo.

Archer did beat Hikuleo so it’ll be him vs Tanahashi at NJPW Resurgence.

Here’s what’s also been announced for the August 14 show:

• Jay White (c) vs. David Finlay – NEVER Openweight Championship
• Alex Coughlin vs. Karl Fredericks
• Rocky Romero, Fred Rosser & Wheeler Yuta vs. Ren Narita, Clark Connors & TJP
• The Good Brothers, Jon Moxley, Tom Lawlor, and more to appear
