An AEW star has opened up on the preparation for their match with Mercedes Mone just 64 matches into their career.
At AEW Grand Slam in Australia back in February, Mercedes Mone defended the TBS Championship against Harley Cameron in what was Harley’s 64th match in her career.
Speaking on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze, Harley opened up on the preparation she put in for the match.
She said:
“It’s funny I was doing the maths yesterday, because I have a book that I write in, I have a wrestling book, a traditional thing where I write it down. I write everything down.
“Again, 64 matches in, it’s funny to even do the maths on that, because I just got to wrestle one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time, and I was like holy shit.
“But again I was like I’m gonna do the best I can to be ready, and I’d go home and train, I’d think of spots and I’d ask for private sessions with my coaches and if you see me at work I’ll be in the ring before the work day begins because I was like ‘I’m getting put in the deep end, so I better do the best of my ability’ because if anything doesn’t go to plan or isn’t perfect, at least I can turn around and say I gave everything to it. I was training as much as I could, I was asking for help, I was doing the additional stuff.”
