AEW star Josh Alexander has addressed last week’s apparent tease that Konosuke Takeshita could be parting ways with The Don Callis Family.

The Saturday, January 17 episode of AEW Collision saw The Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander and El Clon get a win over SkyFlight (Scorpio Sky, Darius Martin & Dante Martin).

After the match, Konosuke Takeshita made his return to TV for the first time since AEW Worlds End on December 27, but rather than embracing Don Callis with a hug in the center of the ring, “The Alpha” instead swerved him and instead hugged Fletcher.

Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Josh Alexander insisted he did not ask any questions after the awkward moment, but shared his full confidence in Don Callis to “cool the waters” within the family.

Alexander said:

“I don’t quite know, everything that you saw transpire on Collision kind of just happened right in front of my eyes and I didn’t really ask any questions afterwards.

“I’ve been known as an alpha in the wrestling community from time to time, I think “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita has also been known as one.

“Kyle is knocking at the door to be one of those top dogs too and I think when you get a bunch of top dogs in the same faction, we’re all competitors at the end of the day. So, we all want one thing, we want those championships.

“We all want to, stake our claim as being the best and it’s kind of tough to do that when two, three, four, five of the very best are in the same group.

“So, tensions will rise, but I think that’s what Don’s very good at. I think Don can cool the waters and steady the ship and keep us all on track, so I have faith in Don.”
