AEW has taken to social media to announce that one of its stars has been pulled from tonight’s Dynamite due to COVID-19 exposure.
Joey Janela has been pulled due to being exposed to someone who has since tested positive at an indie show.
AEW tweeted:
AEW and Joey Janela learned today that he had exposure to a known COVID-19 positive person at an independent show. For that reason we are pulling him until such time as he is cleared to return consistent with our protocols.
Janela was set to face Kenny Omega in round one of the World Title shot eliminator tournament tonight. He’s been replaced by his tag team partner Sonny Kiss who will now face Omega instead.
