A popular AEW star has re-signed with the company after reports recently emerged that their contract was coming up soon.
It’s been a year of many moves from AEW to WWE, but we can pretty much rule out one name from making that move for the time being.
As reported by Fightful Select, Willow Nightingale has re-signed with AEW on a multi-year deal.
Nightingale’s contract was due to expire in “a few months”.
Fightful previously reported that AEW considered Nightingale a “priority”, with sources noting she’s well liked within the company.
Nightingale won AEW’s 2023 Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament, and is also a former TBS Champion.
She won the title from Julia Hart in at Dynasty April 2024, holding it for 35 days before losing it to Mercedes Mone at Double Or Nothing.
There was no word on whether there was interest from WWE or any other companies in signing Nightingale, but as noted, her contract wasn’t due to expire until a few months down the line anyway, so she re-signed before being able to field any other offers.
