A current AEW star and former champion has very much suggested that the end of their in-ring career is coming to an end “very soon”.
Saraya has been out of action for months, and recently confirmed that her contract with AEW is coming up in September 2025.
In the latest update on her future, she said to Sports Illustrated that her time in wrestling won’t last forever. She said:
“I’m letting people beat me, left, right and center. I was on a losing streak, but I just wanted people to get their rub. I want to uplift everybody.
“I’m not gonna be in wrestling forever. I’m coming to the end of it and it’s very soon. And I don’t wanna go out being like, ‘I need to be on top’.”
In a previous interview with TMZ, Saraya didn’t commit to re-signing with AEW at that point and gave a ‘maybe one day’ type answer when asked about the prospect of a WWE return.
Her brother Zak Knight’s AEW contract also recently came to an end and he exited the promotion.
Saraya’s last match came in October 2024, which was a four-way #1 contender match that also included Nyla Rose, Jamie Hayter, and the winner Willow Nightingale.
