On the first AEW Dynamite on 2023, Darby Allin began his second reign as the AEW TNT Champion.
Darby ended the reign of the ‘King of Television’ Samoa Joe, who won the title from Wardlow back at AEW All Out.
Since winning the title, Darby has defended the title against Mike Bennett, Juice Robinson, Kushida, and most recently Buddy Matthews on tonight’s show.
After the match, Schiavone went to interview Darby regarding his incredible week, including teaming with Sting and the Great Muta at the Great Muta Final Bye-Bye show last week.
Samoa Joe then appeared on the titantron, his first Dynamite appearance since losing to Darby on January 4.
Joe said that he won’t let the King of Television be usurped by someone like Darby, and he would be coming to take his title back.
Darby and Joe are currently one win a piece over each other.
"I am coming to take back what's mine. The KING will not usurped by a man like you." Former TNT Champion @samoajoe has his eyes firmly set on the TNT title!
