Since the launch of All Elite Wrestling, many fans have wanted to see crossover between their stars and New Japan Pro Wrestling. However, only Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley have appeared for both companies since. Now, another star has revealed he is able to work for New Japan.
That star is Colt Cabana. While replying to a tweet from David Bixenspan saying he wants to see Cabana and Toru Yano together again, Cabana revealed his AEW contract allows him to work for New Japan. He even stated that was the plan before the pandemic took hold.
My contract specifically says I can do NJPW.
It was still the plan that got stopped with the pandemic 🙁— Colt Cabana🦦 (@ColtCabana) January 7, 2021
Colt Cabana has made sporadic appearances in New Japan Pro Wrestling in recent years. Many of his recent appearances have involved fellow comedy wrestler Yano. The two wrestled in the 2019 New Japan Cup.
Since arriving in AEW, Cabana has joined The Dark Order, serving as somewhat of a reluctant recruit. However, he has become more involved in the group in recent months. He wrestled a match on the Brodie Lee tribute show last week, teaming with the Young Bucks to defeat Private Party and Matt Hardy.
It remains to be seen whether AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will work together when the pandemic is over.
