Ahead of AEW Full Gear early next month, Alex McCarthy from talkSPORT was able to speak to one of the brightest prospects of All Elite Wrestling’s women’s division, Bea Priestley.
Priestley and McCarthy spoke about a variety of topics, including the biggest influences backstage at AEW, her contract with the company, and how she turned down the opportunity to join WWE.
Priestley said that Kenny Omega and Dustin Rhodes are the biggest influences backstage at TV shows.
However, she did note that it was Cody who brought her into the company after Priestley wrestled Brandi Rhodes towards the end of last year.
The match between Brandi and Bea took place at STARDOM in Japan. Priestley noted that she is currently part-time with AEW but on a full-time contract with STARDOM.
Priestley also noted that her AEW contract allows her to still work and live in Japan with her boyfriend Will Ospreay.
Bea claimed that she could have joined WWE to be part of NXT UK, but the company wouldn’t let her work in Japan as much.
She also said that she felt as if she would have got lost in the shuffle in NXT UK due to the number of signings they have made in recent months.
Bea is on a full-time contract with Stardom and a part-time deal with AEW.
Partly, she turned down NXT UK was because she wouldn't have been able to live/perform as much in Japan – AEW allowed that. She also thought she might be a mid-carder with NXT UK due to recent signings.

Priestley seems like she will be a big part of AEW’s women’s division in the coming months, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see her eventually sign full-time with the promotion.
Bea has enormous potential and is immensely talented, so it should come as no surprise that WWE wanted to bring her in at some stage.
