An AEW star has recalled a promo segment that went “way over time” from the June 23, 2023 edition of Rampage.
Harley Cameron has been one of the brightest stars on AEW television in recent months, with the Australian star building momentum through her entertaining segments.
While her recent showings have earned praise from fans, an AEW star has recalled a segment where the fans were not so in favor of her presence.
During the June 23, 2023 edition of AEW Rampage, The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens, Max Caster and Billy Gunn) were greeted by Cameron, who was at the time affiliated with QT Marshall’s QTV group.
Looking to outdo Max Caster’s rapping exploits, Cameron took the mic and delivered an impressive performance, although the fans in Chicago were not so receptive.
While the promo is almost two years old, a clip of Cameron’s rapping was shared on Twitter and caught the attention of Bowens, who shared some “insight” into the segment.
Bowens wrote:
A little insight on this segment..it went way over time and had to be edited down because they booed Harley for 3-4 minutes straight.
For some reason the audio doesn’t reflect it on the broadcast but the booing was so LOUD and constant, I legitimately couldn’t hear anything from her promo.
If you go 20 seconds into this vid you will see me lean in to try to figure out what she was saying. Billy even came over and said idk wtf she’s saying right now, this is so good.
You can check out the clip for yourself in the embedded tweet down below.
At Saturday’s AEW Grand Slam Australia show in Brisbane, Cameron received her first-ever title shot in the company, challenging Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship.
Despite her home country fans willing her on, it was Mone who picked up the win, extending her reign as champion to beyond 265 days.
