AEW Star Reveals When He Gained Confidence In The Company

An AEW star has revealed when he gained confidence in the company.

In 2022, Wheeler Yuta became one of the fastest rising stars in All Elite Wrestling.

After spending nearly a year aligned with Best Friends, Yuta earned the respect of William Regal, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson to join the Blackpool Combat Club.

Appearing on a new episode of the DEVIANT ONES podcast, the AEW star revealed that he gained a big confidence boost just before the opportunity arose for him to join the B.C.C. Reflecting on the months before his huge break, Yuta said:

“I’m trying to think of some of the earlier matches but kind of more fresh in my mind, I think about AEW stuff.”

“Like I had this match with Penta when I was still with the Best Friends before all of the Blackpool Combat Club stuff and that was really the first time that I’d say I felt comfortable like in AEW.”

“Like, okay, this is what I was doing on the independents, these are the kind of matches that I can have. Then that sort of snowballed, that was I think a month or two before the Blackpool Combat Club stuff started to roll, so that was a really good confidence booster for me.”

“From then on, it just kind of snowballed and I got to have some really good matches with some really good people.”

The bout between Wheeler Yuta and Penta El Zero Miedo occurred on the January 26, 2022 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation.

Yuta is currently the reigning two-time Ring of Honor Pure Champion after defeating Daniel Garcia to regain his title at Final Battle 2022 in December.
