AEW/WWE
An AEW star has reportedly signed with WWE following the expiration of his contract last week.
Arguably the biggest story from within the world of wrestling last week was the AEW exit of Powerhouse Hobbs, who’s departure was made official following the airing of his final match in the company on the Saturday, January 17 episode of Collision.
With reports stating that Hobbs was expected to WWE bound and heading straight to the main roster, a new update on his move to the company has emerged from Fightful.
According to Fightful’s sources in WWE, Hobbs is believed to have already signed with WWE, however, it’s unclear when he is planned to be debuted on television at this time.
Hobbs arrived in AEW in 2020, becoming a member of Team Taz, before eventually winning his first singles title in the form of the TNT Championship.
He would then win the AEW World Trios Titles with The Opps in April 2025, holding the gold until the aforementioned January 17 episode of Collision, where The Opps were dethroned by Hangman Adam Page, Speedball Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight.
We will provide further updates on Hobbs’ WWE switch as more information becomes available.
