An AEW star has been stripped of their championship in another company, with a new champion already being crowned.
Last night, May 9, 2025, House Of Glory Waging War took place at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois.
The show was headlined by Cedric Alexander’s in-ring return after being released by WWE as he faced former AEW star Mike Santana, but there was another story regarding a current AEW talent.
AEW’s Megan Bayne had reigned as HOG Women’s World Champion since July 26, 2024, when she defeated The Ultra Violette.
After that, Bayne had three defenses – one against Kylie Rae in September, one against Lena Kross also in September, and one against Allie Katch in December.
With Bayne having not defended the title at all in 2025, HOG commissioner Jason Solomon made the announcement at Waging War last night that the title had been vacated and Bayne was no longer champion.
Solomon then announced that the scheduled match between Indi Hartwell and Miyu Yamashita would now be a title match, with Hartwell picking up the win and becoming the new champion.
Hartwell recently announced that she’s signed with TNA Wrestling after being released by WWE in November.
