AEW Star Reflects On ‘Tainted’ Double Or Nothing Match AEW

Ahead of this year’s pay-per-view event, AEW star Wardlow has reflected on his “tainted” AEW Double Or Nothing match with MJF.

At AEW Double Or Nothing 2022, the main card kicked off with the culmination of a near-three year storyline as Wardlow defeated MJF in dominating fashion to earn his contract with the company.

The win was somewhat overshadowed by the out-of-the-ring controversial that MJF had going into the event with his contract status becoming a point of contention between him and AEW.

On the episode of AEW Dynamite that followed the event, MJF cut an infamous promo where he buried the company and AEW President Tony Khan before being written off of television. Meanwhile, Wardlow never quite capitalized on the victory despite becoming a three-time TNT Champion.

On May 24, Wardlow took to social media to quote tweet a fan video from AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 where the Twitter/X user asked if he still hears those chants from the fans that night. He wrote:

I hear you every day. It’s what’s kept me going the past year. Sad how tainted this night was for me. But we will get back to this one day.

On my life. For anyone that’s chanted my name, even when you didn’t have much of a reason to, it’s meant the world to me. Thank you

Wardlow is currently a member of the Undisputed Kingdom alongside Adam Cole, Mike Bennett, Matt Taven and Roderick Strong.
