An AEW star has teased pursuing the World Championship after winning their match at last night’s Full Gear pay-per-view.
In what was a rematch of their bout at October’s WrestleDream, Hangman Page and ‘Switchblade’ Jay White faced off inside the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey.
Ahead of the match, much had been made of Page’s poor win/loss record against the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion in their careers, with Page’s only singles victory over White being during this year’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
Unfortunately for Page that losing record only worsened at Full Gear as White secure the win via the Blade Runner.
Page attacked White on the ramp afterwards, as well as punching AEW official Christopher Daniels, but that would not be the last interaction between White and Page on the night.
After Jon Moxley’s AEW World Title defence over Orange Cassidy in the main event of the show, Page would attack the Death Riders’ Wheeler Yuta, inadvertently distracting Moxley so Christian Cage could attempt to cash-in his guaranteed AEW World Title match contract.
Unfortunately for Cage, Jay White put an end to those attempts hitting The Patriarchy’s figurehead with a Blade Runner.
After Full Gear, White took to Twitter to indicate that he had Moxley’s World Championship in his sights.
As can be seen below, White retweeted a check list he had made after he defeated Page at WrestleDream, only this time he posted an updated version with Page and Cage both ticked off.
While he doesn’t name the AEW World Championship, the final spot is a crown emoji, and after his actions at the end of Full Gear it seems likely that crown represents Moxley’s title.
